On World Polio Day, October 24, 2023, the collaboration between the Rotaract Club of Chinatown Manila and the Manila City government yielded a significant initiative aimed at raising awareness about polio. Through an enlightening seminar held at Justice Jose Abad Santos, parents were empowered with knowledge about the importance of polio vaccination and its impact on public health.
The seminar served as a platform for open dialogue, allowing attendees to address their concerns and gain a deeper understanding of polio prevention measures. Led by knowledgeable speakers and experts in the field, the session provided invaluable insights into the significance of vaccination in eradicating polio and safeguarding community health. In addition to the informative session, the Rotaract Club of Chinatown Manila and the Manila City government distributed 50 loot bags to attendees, each containing hygiene kits and an "End Polio Now" tumbler. These tokens of appreciation not only reinforced the message of polio prevention but also served as tangible reminders of the collective effort required to combat this debilitating disease. The success of this initiative underscores the power of collaboration and community engagement in tackling public health challenges. By joining forces with local government agencies and community stakeholders, the Rotaract Club of Chinatown Manila has demonstrated its commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and families. As World Polio Day serves as a poignant reminder of the ongoing fight against polio, the Rotaract Club of Chinatown Manila looks forward to organizing more impactful sessions and initiatives in the future. Together, with continued dedication and collective action, we can overcome polio and pave the way for a healthier future for generations to come.
