In the second edition of "Project Eat with Me," the Rotaract Club of Chinatown - Manila joined hands with the Rotaract Club of Penang, Malaysia, in a delightful culinary adventure. Led by HCP Joshe Tiu, accompanied by Rotaractor Jasmin Tiu, the event took place at Mitsukoshi in BGC, creating a memorable experience filled with delicious food and camaraderie.
As plates were shared and conversations flowed, the essence of cultural exchange and friendship illuminated the dining table. Tigre, the club's playful mascot, added a touch of whimsy to the gathering, bringing smiles to everyone present. The super yummy food at Mitsukoshi not only tantalized the taste buds but also served as a symbol of the bonds forged through shared experiences. Fostering Friendship and Collaboration: Rotaract Club Presidents Unite for Community Impact8/28/2023 It was a warm and exciting day for both Joshe Tiu, the president of the Rotaract Club of Chinatown-Manila, and Ace Candado, the president of the Rotaract Club of PCCR Manila, as they came together for a meeting and fellowship at SM Manila last August 22. The two Rotaractors were eager to discuss their respective clubs' upcoming projects and work towards developing collaborative efforts that would benefit both the community and their organizations.
During the meeting, Joshe and Ace were able to share their experiences and insights on how to best serve the community. They also exchanged ideas on how they could work together on future projects and strengthen their relationship as Rotaractors. The two clubs are looking forward to future collaborations in order to make a greater impact within the Chinatown-Manila community. Their passion and dedication to service were truly inspiring and a testament to the Rotaract ethos of service above self. Overall, the meeting was a great success for both Rotaract Clubs. It not only allowed for meaningful fellowship between the two groups but also laid the foundation for future partnerships that will undoubtedly make a positive impact on the community at large. The third day of the Edukabanata Project was a day filled with excitement and learning for the 30 students who attended this event. Organized by the Rotaract Club of Chinatown - Manila, ASEAN Youth Organization, and Rotaract Club of United Makati, the event aimed to provide Filipino students with access to quality education. The attendees were given a chance to explore different learning opportunities and gain new skills to help them excel in their academic journey.
Don Bosco School Manila was a perfect venue for this event, as it provided an ideal learning environment for the students. The attendees were actively engaged in various activities such as group discussions, creative writing, and even time management skills training. The participants were given opportunities to share their thoughts and experiences on different academic topics, leading to fruitful discussions and constructive feedback. The attendance of Joshe Tiu, the president of the Rotaract Club of Chinatown - Manila, made the event even more special. Last August 19, the Rotaract Club of Chinatown - Manila was one of the lead hosts of the 1st District Meeting of Rotaract Club District 3810. HCP Joshe Tiu, along with the VP Djoshua Tuazon and Secretary Rexter Tan, represented the club and were in for a great surprise. They were dazzled with the project's concept, entitled "Marahuyo," which means enchanted. The project aims to help and inspire young individuals, mainly officers.
The Rotaract Clubs of Baywalk Manila, Manila Supreme 198, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Quiapo Plaza Miranda, and Tondo took part in conceptualizing and creating the project. Each club brought in their creativity, skills, and distinct ideas to contribute to making the project a success. It was a team effort, and everyone worked hand in hand to ensure everything was well-executed. Most importantly, it was an excellent opportunity for the Rotaract Clubs to showcase their unity, cooperation, and passion for community service. The highlight of the event was the presence of DRR Nikki Parlade and DRRE John Noe Lopez, who graced the gathering with their notable presence. These esteemed Rotary members acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the Rotaract Clubs in bringing positive impact to their respective communities. They expressed their gratitude, saying that the young generation is the hope for a brighter future. The attendees were in full agreement, hoping to inspire more people to take part in community service and lead with compassion. Overall, the 1st District Meeting was a huge success for the Rotaract Club. Everyone in attendance left with a sense of fulfillment and inspiration, ready to take their community service to the next level. The Rotaract Clubs demonstrated the importance of working together, bringing out the best in each other, and helping the less fortunate. In an inspiring display of unity and dedication, the Rotaract Club of Chinatown - Manila, ASEAN Youth Organization- Philippines, and Rotaract Club of Makati United joined hands on Day 2 of the Edukabanata Project at the Don Bosco School Manila. With a shared goal of empowering the youth, these organizations came together to make a difference in the lives of 25 eager students. Throughout the day, the participants were introduced to the building blocks of knowledge - the basics of the alphabet.
With hearts full of passion and minds brimming with creativity, the collaboration of these clubs brought a vibrant energy to the class. Patiently guiding each student through the intricacies of the alphabets, they created an atmosphere of friendly camaraderie and support. Brighter Smiles, Healthier Futures: Rotaract Club of Chinatown - Manila's Dental Mission Success8/21/2023 Last August 7, 2023, the Rotaract Club of Chinatown - Manila, attended by HCP Joshe Tiu, proudly sponsored a dental mission at Malipay Elementary School in Bacoor, Cavite. The project was a successful collaboration with EJPL Dental Clinic, Rotaract Club of PCCR Manila, Rotaract Club University of the East College of Dentistry, Rotaract Club of Manila Bay and Academy for Christian Education. Together, they were able to provide free dental check-ups and cleanings to 250 students.
For the members, it was a significant feat to have brought health care to the students of Malipay Elementary School. Through this project, they hoped to inspire students to aim for brighter futures and to foster a culture of giving back to communities in need. The dental mission ultimately aimed to deliver a clean and healthy mouth for smiles that will last a lifetime and to offer a healthier start for the children's growth potential. The success of this project has proven to be an excellent platform for more future collaborations with various institutions and organizations involving health care and education. Ultimately, this event served as a reminder of the importance of being socially responsible and each individual's role in improving the lives of others, one step at a time. The Rotaract Club of Chinatown – Manila's core values of leadership, friendship, and service were exemplified through the conduct of this initiative, showcasing the members' dedication to their craft and service to the community Kwela pa-Eskwela was a successful event that aimed to provide much-needed support to students, parents, and teachers in the Philippines. Thanks to our partnership with the Department of Education's Brigada Eskwela project, we were able to execute thenproject efficiently. Thank you also to the support of our mother club, Rotary Club of Chinatown - Manila, we were able to donate food for the students and staff. Thank you to our members who contributed to the donation of school supplies, hygiene kit, printer, tables, and chairs to 120 beneficiaries at Jose Abad Santos High School and Pedro Guevara Elementary School. The event kickstarted with our president, Joshe Calvin Tiu, giving a motivational speech about financial literacy to the students and parents. Furthermore, our members did a cleaning activity to help sanitize the environment.
Our goal for this event was to build a brighter future for the students and teachers in these schools, and we're proud to say that the impact was truly felt. Through the generosity of our donors and volunteers, we were able to alleviate some of the challenges these schools face and empower their students with the resources and materials they need for success. Moving forward, we hope to continue our commitment in supporting education and the welfare of Filipino students, parents, and teachers. We firmly believe that education is the key to unlocking many of the challenges that our communities face, and we will continue to do our part to support this essential cause. Kwela pa-Eskwela was just the beginning, and we can't wait to see what other positive changes we can make together. The first day of the Edukabanata Project was a massive success. As early as eight in the morning, volunteers from the ASEAN Youth Organization - Philippines and the Rotaract Club of Chinatown - Manila were already setting up the venue for the event. Don Bosco School Manila welcomed elementary students from the neighboring communities to participate in a full day of academic activities. The kids were divided into groups and were assisted by volunteers who shared their knowledge and time to make a positive difference in someone’s school life.
Everyone was filled with enthusiasm in providing help and support to the kids that participated in the Edukabanata Project. The teachers were thrilled to have the assistance and support of such a large team of volunteers that contributed to the success of the event. By the end of the day, the volunteers and the kids shared a special bond, one that's marked with shared time, knowledge, and teamwork. The Edukabanata Project's first day's success left everyone with a heartwarming feeling, knowing that they contributed to the progress of the children's academic journey. Watching the kids' faces beaming with confidence and excitement was a great reward for the volunteers and teachers who worked tirelessly to make the event possible. The Edukabanata Project will continue its mission to provide educational assistance to children who need it most, so more kids can have a brighter future through the power of education and community spirit. |
